How to make chocolate carrot cake step by step
Step 1 - preparations
Peel the carrots (mine weighed about 220 g before peeling) and grate them on a fine grater.
180 g carrots
Chop the chocolate with a knife - you can also use chocolate chips.
100 g chocolate
Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with flour or breadcrumbs or line with baking paper.
Preheat the oven to 170℃ (fan-forced) or 180℃ (top/bottom heat mode).
Step 2 - preparing the carrot cake batter
Transfer the dry ingredients for the cake to a large bowl and mix them together.
225 g wheat flour, 25 g dark cocoa, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 150 g sugar
Crack the eggs into a smaller bowl and whisk thoroughly with a fork.

Pour the eggs into the bowl with the dry ingredients, add oil and milk.
60 ml oil, approx. 200 ml milk
Mix everything together with a spoon - if the batter is too thick, you can add a little more milk.
Add the carrots and chocolate to the bowl and mix with a spoon.
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
Step 3 - baking the carrot cake
Place the pan with the cake into the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes - until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
After baking, let the cake cool and decorate as desired.
