How to make poppy seed cake with egg whites step by step
Step 1 - preparations
Preheat the oven to 200℃ (top/bottom heating mode) or 190℃ (convection mode).
Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with flour, or line it with baking paper.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, and poppy seeds.
1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup poppy seeds, 1 teaspoon baking powder
Step 2 - preparing the batter
Pour the egg whites into a larger bowl, add sugar and vanilla sugar.
1 cup sugar, 1 cup egg whites, 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Whisk them together on high speed with a mixer until a stiff, smooth mixture forms.
Gradually add the mixed flour with poppy seeds to the egg white mixture.
Add extract (if using) and oil.
1 teaspoon any extract, 125 ml oil
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Step 3 - baking the poppy seed cake
Place the mold in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes - until a dry skewer comes out.
After baking, let it cool.
