How to make buttery browned butter cake step by step
Step 1 - preparations
Grease the baking pan with butter and sprinkle with flour or breadcrumbs.
Preheat the oven to 180℃ (top/bottom heat) or 170℃ (fan-assisted).
Transfer the butter to a saucepan and heat until it melts and brown specks appear.
220 g butter
Sift the flour with baking powder and salt.
150 g all-purpose flour,
1.5 teaspoons baking powder,
1/4 teaspoon salt
Step 2 - preparing the browned butter cake
Pour the butter into a mixer bowl, add sugar and vanilla - mix until combined.
200 g sugar,
approx. 1 teaspoon vanilla
Add the eggs to the mixture one by one and mix briefly after each addition.

Pour in about half of the sifted flour and briefly mix on low speed.
Add yogurt and mix briefly.
120 ml natural yogurt
Add the rest of the flour and mix briefly until combined.
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
Sprinkle the top of the cake with sugar.

Step 3 - baking the cake
Place the pan with the cake in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes - until a dry skewer comes out clean.
After baking, cool the cake and you can serve it still warm.
