How to make a meringue trifle dessert step by step
Step 1 - prepare the cranberry fruit filling
Transfer the cranberries to a pot and add the raspberries - you don't need to defrost them.
250 g cranberries, 100 g raspberries
Add the squeezed orange juice and grated zest.

Add sugar and bring everything to a boil until the cranberries burst and soften - and the mixture thickens slightly.
100 g sugar
Mix potato starch with a small amount of water and stir.
1 teaspoon potato starch
Pour the mixture into the hot cranberries and stir, cooking over low heat until the mixture thickens.
Set aside the fruit filling to cool.
Step 2 - prepare the pudding cream
From half a liter of milk, pour off about half a glass.
500 ml milk
In a smaller amount of milk, mix both puddings and sugar (if you need to sweeten it).
2 package vanilla pudding, 60 g sugar
Boil the rest of the milk.
Pour the mixed pudding into the hot milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until you get a thick pudding.
Immediately cover the pudding with cling film so that it touches the surface and set aside to cool.
Blend the cooled pudding with mascarpone cheese, adding it spoon by spoon - if your pudding is at room temperature, the cheese should also be at room temperature.

Step 3 - dessert preparation
Spread about 2/3 of the cooled cranberry fruit jelly onto the bottom of a glass bowl.
Crumble about 150g of meringues over it.

Layer the entire pudding cream over the meringues.
Spread the rest of the fruit jelly over the pudding in an even layer.
Sprinkle the top with the remaining meringues.
Step 4 - preparing whipped cream
Whip the cold heavy cream together with powdered sugar at high speed for several minutes until you get thick whipped cream.
250 ml heavy cream, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Spread it over the meringues in an even layer.
Step 5 - decorating the dessert
You can sprinkle the top of the whipped cream with fresh raspberries or cranberries.
