Transfer the butter to a saucepan and heat on the stove.
200 g butter
Heat it until the butter melts, turns a light brown color, and darker specks appear - then remove the saucepan from the heat and let the butter cool slightly.
Turn on the oven to 180℃ (top/bottom heat mode) or 170℃ (fan-assisted).
Line the baking pan with baking paper or grease with butter and dust with flour.
Chop the pecan nuts.

Step 2 - preparing the batter
Transfer the wet ingredients for the cake (without butter) and sugar to a large bowl - mix them with a kitchen whisk.
150 g sugar, 75 g maple syrup, 3 eggs, 120 ml milk
Add the cooled butter to the bowl and mix.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt and add them to the bowl with the wet ingredients.
270 g wheat flour, 1.5 teaspoons baking powder, 0.5 teaspoon salt
Add the chopped nuts to the batter and mix.
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
Step 3 - baking the cake
Place the pan with the cake in the preheated oven and bake for about an hour until a dry skewer comes out clean.
