Peel the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the core.
300 g apples
Cut the apples into small cubes and transfer them to a saucepan.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of water, sugar, and cinnamon.
1 teaspoon cinnamon, water, 50 g sugar
Heat until the fruit softens slightly - but not too long - so they don't fall apart.
Cool the apples.
How to make muffin batter
Add flour, sugar, and baking powder to a large bowl.
275 g wheat flour - all-purpose, 100 g sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder
Briefly mix the butter with the eggs.
75 g butter, 2 eggs
Add some flour and milk - mix.
125 ml milk
Add the rest of the dry ingredients and mix briefly - just until combined.
Spoon a tablespoon of batter into the muffin molds.
On top, arrange about a teaspoon of apples (without the liquid that formed during heating).
Spoon the rest of the batter, and then the remaining apples on top.
If you wish, you can additionally sprinkle the top of the muffins with cinnamon sugar - just mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon).
Bake the muffins at 200 degrees (top/bottom heat mode) for about 20-25 minutes - until a dry skewer comes out clean.
After baking, cool the muffins.
You can store them for several days in an airtight container.
