How to make Drømmekage cake
Whisk the eggs together with sugar until a thick, fluffy and almost white mixture is formed.
5 eggs,
300 g sugar
Prepare the milk and melted butter, and preferably sift the flour through a sieve together with the baking powder.
100 g butter,
400 ml milk,
500 g wheat flour - all-purpose,
2 teaspoons baking powder
To the beaten egg mixture, alternately add a little flour, milk, and butter.
Do not mix for too long - just until the ingredients are combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, place in an oven preheated to 170 degrees (fan-assisted) and bake for 30 minutes.
After 20 minutes of baking the cake, start making the coconut topping for the cake.
How to make the coconut topping for Drømmekage cake
Transfer the butter to a saucepan and heat until melted.
200 g butter
Add sugar and milk to the butter and heat until the sugar dissolves.
100 g sugar,
approx 5 tablespoons milk
Add the desiccated coconut and mix - if the mixture is too dry, you can add a little more milk.
200 g desiccated coconut
After 30 minutes of baking the cake, open the oven and spread the coconut mixture over the top of the cake - spread it in a more or less even layer.
Bake the cake for another 15 minutes.
