How to make soft butter buns
Mix the yeast with sugar until it becomes more liquid, add milk and mix thoroughly.
15 g yeast,
1 teaspoon sugar,
150 ml milk
Cover with a cloth and set aside for about 20 minutes to rise.
Put the remaining ingredients into the mixer bowl.
300 g wheat flour - all-purpose ,
50 g butter,
0.5 teaspoon salt
Add the yeast starter and knead the dough - it will be thick and should come away from the sides of the bowl.
Cover the bowl with the dough with a cloth and set aside for about an hour to rise.
After this time, take the dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly.
Divide into 8 portions.
Form a ball from each piece of dough.
Arrange the buns in a buttered baking dish - leave space between the buns.
Cover the baking dish with a cloth and set aside for about 30 minutes to puff up.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat).
Brush the puffed-up buns with egg mixed with milk.
1 egg,
1-2 tablespoons milk
Place in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes - until nicely browned.
After baking, remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops of the buns with a little melted butter.

Store uneaten buns in a plastic bag to keep them soft.
