How to make apple pie with strawberries step by step
Step 1 - Preparations
Line the cake tin with baking paper (to make the paper stick well, I grease the tin in a few places - on the bottom and on each side - with a little butter, to which the paper adheres).
Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and cut them into smaller pieces - halves or quarters - depending on the size of the fruit.

Step 2 - Preparing the pie crust
Transfer the flour, baking powder, butter cut into smaller pieces, and sugar to a bowl.
300 g all-purpose flour, 0.5 teaspoon baking powder, 150 g butter, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Carefully crack the eggs, separate the yolks from the whites - add the yolks to the shortcrust pastry ingredients, and transfer the whites to another bowl.

Knead the dough - it may still be slightly crumbly.
Pour the dough into the form and carefully line the entire bottom with it.
Place the form with the dough in the refrigerator and preheat the oven to 180℃ (top/bottom heating mode).
Once the oven is preheated, place the form with the chilled dough inside and pre-bake it for 20 minutes.
Step 3 - preparing the strawberries
While the dough is baking, prepare the strawberry filling.
Add sugar and potato starch to the cut fruit - mix thoroughly.

Step 4 - preparing the meringue for the apple pie
Start lightly mixing the reserved egg whites.

Start slowly adding sugar in portions and mix together at high speed with a mixer.
150 g sugar
Once you've added all the sugar and the egg whites are very thick and white, check if the meringue is well-made - take a small amount of meringue on your finger and rub it between your fingers - if you don't feel sugar crystals, then the meringue is well-mixed.
Add potato flour and lemon juice to the egg whites and mix briefly.
1 teaspoon potato starch, 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Step 5 - preparing the dough
Remove the form with the pre-baked crust from the oven and lower its temperature to 140 ℃.
Spread the strawberries on the base - if they have released juice, do not add it!
Spread the meringue over the strawberries and smooth it out.
Place the form in the oven and bake the cake for about 40 minutes.
After baking, cool the cake thoroughly and serve when it is cold.
