How to make chocolate cake with plums
Break the chocolate into pieces, add milk to it and melt together - I heated it in the microwave, you can also melt it in a water bath - mix thoroughly and let it cool.
60 ml milk, 100 g dark chocolate
Cream the butter with powdered sugar on high speed until fluffy and very light.
200 g butter, 200 g powdered sugar
Meanwhile, sift the flour with baking powder and cocoa through a sieve.
300 g wheat flour - all-purpose, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 20 g unsweetened cocoa
Add the cooled chocolate to the creamed butter and mix briefly.
Add the egg yolks and mix on low speed until combined.

Add the flour in portions and mix briefly on low speed - just until combined.
Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until a thick and white foam forms.

Add the egg whites in two portions to the chocolate batter and mix with a spoon.
Transfer the batter to the prepared tin - I lined it with baking paper.
Arrange the sliced plums on top, skin side down.

Place the cake in an oven preheated to 170 degrees (fan-assisted) or 180 degrees (top/bottom heat) and bake for about 45 minutes - until a dry skewer comes out clean.
After baking, cool the cake on a wire rack.
How to make chocolate sauce for cake
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, when hot, add the broken chocolate to it.
100 ml heavy cream , 50 g dark chocolate
Mix the sauce thoroughly until smooth.
If you prefer sweeter sauces, you can additionally sweeten it with powdered sugar.

Pour the sauce over the cake.
