- 75 g butter (soft)
- 150 g sugar (3/4 cup)
- 2 eggs (size L)
- 200 g wheat flour – all-purpose (1 and 1/3 cups)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- grated lemon zest (or a little lemon extract)
- 200 g Forest Fruits in jelly (from Allnutrition)

How to make crostata cake
- Cream the soft butter with sugar until fluffy.75 g butter, 150 g sugar
- Sift the flour through a sieve together with the baking powder.200 g wheat flour – all-purpose, 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Add eggs one by one to the butter mixture and mix until combined.2 eggs
- Add lemon zest or extract and gradually add the flour in two portions – mix briefly, just until the ingredients are combined.grated lemon zest
- Grease the baking pan with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Spread the dough into the pan. Pushing the dough from the center towards the edges, so that it is thicker at the edges and “climbs” up the sides of the pan.
- Fill the created hollow with fruit jelly – I used Forest Fruits.200 g Forest Fruits in jelly
- Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (top-bottom mode) and bake for approximately 45 minutes – until a dry skewer comes out clean.
- After baking, let it cool.

Crostata tart with fruit – notes
Crostata is an Italian tart or cake with fruit filling.
As is often the case in Italian cuisine, it is usually made with simple and basic ingredients.
You will need flour, butter, a little sugar, eggs, and fruit filling.
You can use your favorite preserves or jam.
For my crostata, I added forest fruit filling from Allnutrition.
It has few calories, so I managed to lower the calorie content of the cake a bit :)
Instead of typical shortcrust pastry, I prepared a lighter and slightly fluffier semi-shortcrust pastry.
I used Nigella Lawson’s recipe for crostata cake here.
She uses type 00 flour in her cake, I used type 500 flour.
After baking, I additionally sprinkled the cake with powdered sugar.
This fruit tart tastes excellent with coffee, and I’ll add that it stays fresh for a long time.
