There are faworki prepared in the oven, or sensational faworki with mascarpone cheese. Check out my faworki recipes and choose the ones that are perfect for you!

I must admit that I only make faworki during the Carnival season, especially for Fat Thursday.

Actually, I don’t know why, because I like them very much.

And what are the best faworki? The best faworki are those rolled out with a rolling pin. You can really let off some steam with them! Thanks to this ‘beating’, the dough comes out crispy, and the faworki are incredible.

When I feel like a change, I make faworki with mascarpone cheese or baked faworki. Baked faworki have the advantage of having significantly fewer calories, but in my opinion, they taste worse than those fried in fat. I can also add funnel cake to this trio – you don’t need to roll out and cut the dough. Instead, it’s poured directly onto hot fat.

Recipe for traditional faworki – Angel Wings

What are traditional faworki like? For me, they must be thin, crispy, with air bubbles, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Such faworki are deep-fried until they are nicely puffed up and golden in color. Immediately after frying, it’s best to drain them on a paper towel to get rid of excess fat. Such crispy faworki with powdered sugar are an ideal sweet snack during Carnival and on Fat Thursday. If you want to prepare such faworki, click on the link below the photo.

Angel Wings with mascarpone

Angel Wings with mascarpone cheese are a combination of tradition and modernity. I added Italian mascarpone cheese to our traditional faworki dough. It made the faworki acquire a new flavor and become somewhat more exquisite. The dough puffs up nicely when deep-fried, and large bubbles form. Such mascarpone faworki taste excellent simply sprinkled with powdered sugar and enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea. You can find the link to the recipe below the photo – I highly encourage you to try it!

Recipe for baked Angel Wings

Baked faworki are a nod to people who are dieting or cannot consume deep-fried products. Instead of deep-frying, these faworki are arranged on a baking sheet and baked in the oven. They also rise and form air bubbles, but they are thinner than their traditional counterparts. Such faworki also dry out faster, so it’s worth storing them in an airtight container to keep them tasty longer. You can find the link to the recipe for these baked faworki in the oven below the photo.

Recipe for funnel cake

Funnel cake is a ‘cousin’ of traditional faworki. Here, the dough is very loose and pourable, because it’s poured onto hot oil. This creates fancy and intricate shapes. Funnel cake looks incredibly interesting and tastes great. After frying, be sure to drain the funnel cake on a paper towel, and before serving, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. If you don’t have time to knead traditional faworki, roll them out, cut them, and turn them, then this funnel cake will be an excellent idea! See the link below the photo and prepare this funnel cake for the whole family!
