  • 200 ml heavy cream (well chilled)

How to make crema al caffe dessert

  • Prepare espresso coffee and immediately add sugar to the hot coffee – mix thoroughly.

  • Put the coffee in the fridge to chill thoroughly.
  • Whip the cold heavy cream until stiff.

  • Add the cold coffee to the whipped cream.

  • Gently mix the cream.

Coffee cream – notes

I am a fan of Italian cuisine and simple, delicious desserts. That’s why today I have a super simple and quick Italian dessert.

Its preparation will not cause you any problems if the ingredients are very well chilled. Therefore, make sure to put the heavy cream and coffee in the fridge beforehand.

It’s best to prepare the dessert just before serving, because, like heavy cream, it can become watery if left standing for too long.

What ingredients are needed for crema al caffe?

This Italian dessert requires only three basic ingredients! I used the following products here:

  • coffee – strong and aromatic espresso coffee will be best here – about 60 ml. If you have a coffee machine, make espresso in it, add powdered sugar to it and chill it in the fridge. If you don’t have an espresso machine but have a moka pot, prepare coffee in it. As a last resort, prepare strong brewed coffee in a glass and cool it down too.
  • heavy cream – I used liquid 30% heavy cream here – I chilled it well in the fridge beforehand. Well-chilled cream will whip nicely and be thick after mixing. You can also use 36% cream here – it will be thicker, but the dessert will also be more caloric.

Should I add cream stabilizer to the dessert?

I don’t use cream stabilizer and I didn’t add it here either. If the cream is well chilled, there are no problems with whipping it. However, if your coffee dessert needs to stand for some reason and you’re afraid it will become watery, you can add cream stabilizer to it.

How to serve crema al caffe dessert?

This coffee dessert is best served in transparent glasses so that its lightness and fluffiness are visible. You can sprinkle the top of the dessert with a little coffee or, like me, grated chocolate. Small meringues will also work great, adding sweetness and an interesting look to the dessert.

I divided my dessert among three glasses, and that was a sufficient amount. You can, of course, divide it into two slightly larger portions.
