  • approx 500 g biscuits (- I used two colors – for 5 layers)
  • 500 g mascarpone cheese (- well chilled)
  • approx 60 g powdered sugar (- 4 tablespoons – or to taste)
  • 500 ml heavy cream (- I used 30%)
  • 250 ml eggnog liqueur (or advocaat)
  • 4 teaspoons gelatin (+ a little cold water)
  • 200 ml heavy cream (- I used 30%)
  • 200 g chocolate (- I used half milk and half dark)

How to make a no-bake cake with eggnog cream

  • Line the baking dish with parchment paper and arrange one layer of biscuits on the bottom.

  • Cover the gelatin with cold water – pour just enough to cover the gelatin – and set aside for a few minutes to swell.

  • Briefly mix the mascarpone cheese with powdered sugar.

  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream and mix until you get a thick cream.

  • Briefly heat the gelatin (I heat it for about 10 seconds in the microwave), stir, and pour into the eggnog – mix.

  • Pour the eggnog into the cream and mix thoroughly.

  • Spread approximately 1/4 of the cream over the biscuits (I divided the weight of the finished cream into 4 and weighed about 300 g per layer).

  • Place a layer of biscuits on the cream and then apply cream again.

  • There should be four layers of cream and five layers of biscuits.
  • Pour the prepared glaze over the last layer of biscuits.
  • To make the chocolate glaze, heat the heavy cream. Add the broken chocolate to the hot cream and stir until it dissolves nicely and combines into a glaze.

  • Slightly cool the chocolate glaze and pour it over the biscuits.

  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for a few hours, or preferably overnight – then the biscuits will soften nicely and the cake will be easy to slice.

No-bake biscuit cake with advocaat – notes

We were going to visit friends recently, and for that occasion, I prepared this delicious and simple no-bake cake with advocaat cream, made entirely on biscuits.

Such biscuit cakes are quick to make and require no baking, so anyone can handle them!

You just need to remember about time here. Such cakes need to rest in the refrigerator so that the biscuits soak up the cream and soften. After a night in the fridge, the biscuits will be nicely soft, and you’ll be able to slice the cake without any problems.

If you were to cut the cake earlier, the hard biscuits would crack, and the cake would look unappetizing.

How to make advocaat cream cake – tips

You won’t need too many ingredients to prepare this cake, and each of them is easily accessible.

The basic thing is, of course, biscuits – here I made five layers of biscuits and used about 500g of them. To make the cake look more interesting, I placed contrasting dark biscuits in the middle part. I think this made the biscuit cake look more interesting and prettier.

Secondly – advocaat.

I poured a glass of advocaat into my mascarpone and whipped cream. Therefore, this cake is not suitable for children!

What to choose in the store – eggnog liqueur or advocaat liqueur?

Both of these liqueurs will be good, both are egg-based, only eggnog liqueur is usually vodka-based, and advocaat liqueur is brandy-based. These liqueurs are very similar in taste, so you can use them interchangeably here.

Thirdly, whipped cream.

As usual, I used 30% liquid whipping cream here. You can also use 36%. Remember, however, that I calculated the calorie count per serving for my products, so using a fattier cream will increase the calorie content of the entire cake!

How to make even layers in advocaat cake?

If you want the layers in the cake to be relatively similar, a kitchen scale will unfortunately be essential here.

I first weighed the bowl itself, and then the bowl with the cream. I divided the weight of the cream by 4 (because there are four layers of cream) and spread the weighed amount of cream onto the biscuits – for me, it was about 300g of cream.

These are not very high layers, but thanks to this, the cake is more stable and slices well.

I hope this advocaat cube cake will taste as good to you as it did to me and others who ate this sensational cake.
