Why is it worth baking such a quick pear cake?
You can prepare this cake in literally a dozen minutes! And without even turning on a mixer! Choose two nice, juicy pears – you don’t even have to peel them if you don’t want to, mix flour with baking powder and aromatic spices, add wet ingredients, and you can already bake the cake. The hardest part will be waiting for the cake to bake, because during that time, the whole house will smell heavenly of cinnamon and the sweetness of fruits! After baking, let the cake cool slightly and you can eat it when it’s still gently warm and even more aromatic. Then add a scoop of your favorite ice cream, and a delicious dessert is ready! If you like pears combined with cinnamon, then this autumn pear cake is just for you!

What ingredients are needed to bake a pear cake?
To make this cake at home, you will only need a few basic ingredients that you either already have or can easily buy in any store. Below is a short list of the products I used and possible substitutes:
- pears – I used two medium-large ‘Klapsa’ pears, which I peeled; you can also use other pears – e.g., ‘Conference’ pears; the best here will be pears that are only slightly soft, or slightly firm, because they need to be mixed with a very thick batter; if they are too soft, they might turn into a mush
- oil – I used rapeseed oil, but it can be any oil with a delicate flavor, or even olive oil ultimately
- nutmeg – if you don’t have this spice, add more cinnamon, or use gingerbread spice
- salt – salt added to cakes enhances their flavor, so it’s worth adding; if you’re afraid of a salty taste in the cake, add a pinch of salt instead of half a teaspoon

Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ
Can compote pears be used?
If your compote pears are not too soft, you can use them instead of fresh fruit.
Can other fruits be used for this cake?
Yes, apples will work great here, but also firmer plums.
How to store pear cake?
After baking and completely cooling, the cake should be transferred to an airtight container with a lid. It can stay at room temperature for about 3 days; if it’s not eaten by then, it’s worth putting it in the refrigerator.
Can this autumn pear cake be frozen?
Yes, the cake can be frozen for about 3 months. I recommend slicing it into portions first and then freezing it.
