Mazurek with halva cream – tips
Halva Mazurek, is a perfect idea for an Easter bake.
It’s very simple and quick to make – I think anyone can handle it :)

What ingredients are needed to make mazurek with halva?
For the halva cream, you will need a package of mascarpone cheese, vanilla halva, and white chocolate. The cream is sweet, so to slightly break up that sweetness, you will need a tart jam. I used blackcurrant jam from Stovit. Blackcurrant pairs wonderfully with halva – check it out for yourselves!
The shortcrust base traditionally consists of flour, butter, egg, and a little powdered sugar. Due to the sweetness of the halva and white chocolate, I limited white sugar to an absolute minimum. And yet the cake is sweet. Besides, mazurek should be sweet, and that’s that!

How to decorate mazurek with halva?
For decoration, I used colorful mini eggs and colorful sprinkles. I also made cocoa “spots” all over the surface – so that the mazurek looked like a speckled egg. Thanks to this, the halva mazurek looked beautiful. I probably don’t need to add that it tasted sensational!
What are your favorite Easter mazurek? If you don’t have a favorite, be sure to make this mazurek, or perhaps one with lemon cream or chocolate mazurek.

Halva Mazurek Recipe
Homemade mazurek with halva cream is a traditional Polish Easter cake that is always very popular. It consists of a shortcrust pastry, which is covered with a layer of halva cream, and then decorated with cocoa dots and chocolate eggs.
To prepare the mazurek, we primarily need flour, sugar, and butter. We knead the dough thoroughly, then arrange it in a baking tin, creating higher edges. We bake until the pastry is golden and crispy, then cool it.
For the halva cream, we need halva - preferably vanilla, mascarpone cheese, and good white chocolate. We blend the ingredients together until we get a smooth mass. Then we spread it evenly over the baked pastry. To make the mazurek more distinct in flavor and not too sweet, you can spread a tart jam on the shortcrust pastry before applying the halva cream - e.g., blackcurrant or raspberry.
Finally, we decorate the mazurek - you can sprinkle it with your favorite dried fruits and nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, raisins, or dried fruits. A mazurek prepared and decorated this way will be a decoration for any festive table :) I hope you will really enjoy this halva mazurek and use this recipe often - not just for Easter. By the way, I recommend my other shortcrust tart recipes perfect for various occasions.
