Recipe for express sprinkled plum and cinnamon cake
If you’re craving cake but have little time, or don’t trust your baking skills, I have the perfect cake for you. I invite you to try this quick plum cake! We make this cake in one bowl and pour it into a baking tin, then add juicy plums and bake. After baking, you get a delicious shortcrust plum cake fragrant with cinnamon. - 150 g wheat flour – all-purpose (- 1 cup)
- 180 g semolina (- 1 cup)
- 150 g sugar (- 3/4 cup – but you can use less)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 150 g butter (- melted)
- approx 550 g plums (- for me, weight after removing pits)

How to make crumb cake with plums
- Wash the plums, cut them in half and remove the pits.approx 550 g plums
- Pour flour into a large bowl, add semolina, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon – mix.150 g wheat flour – all-purpose, 180 g semolina, 150 g sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pour butter into the dry ingredients and stir with a spatula.150 g butter
- Prepare a baking pan – grease it with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Pour about 1/3 of the dough into the pan and lightly press with a spoon.
- Arrange about half of the plums – I arranged them quite tightly.
- Sprinkle another 1/3 portion of the dough and spread it over the plums.
- Arrange the second layer of fruit.
- Finally, sprinkle the remaining dough over the plums, creating a crumble topping.
- Bake at 180 degrees (top-bottom mode) for about an hour.
- After baking, let it cool slightly – you can serve it warm – then I recommend it with ice cream :)

Express sprinkled plum cake – notes
I recently craved some plum cake, but due to the heat, I didn’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen.
Then I remembered the recipe for sprinkled apple pie and decided I could make something similar, but with plums.
To make it even quicker and simpler, I modified that recipe and prepared this express plum cake :)

How to make sprinkled plum cake – tips
Start by preparing the plums, as that will take the most time, though it’s still not much.
You will need about 600g of plums here – but you can also add a little more or a little less.
I thoroughly washed my fruits, cut them in half, and removed the pits. Period!
Now all you need to do is prepare the sprinkled cake.
Pour 1/3 of the batter into the baking tin and press it to the bottom, then arrange a layer of plums on top. I arrange them densely, and often they even overlap. On top of the plums, add a little more batter and a second layer of plums. I sprinkled the rest of the batter on top, creating a crumble.

What ingredients will you need for the quick plum cake?
Simple matter – a glass of wheat flour, a glass of semolina (loose), roughly 3/4 cup of sugar. Although if you have very sweet plums, I think half a cup will be perfectly sufficient. Plus a little cinnamon – for flavor – and baking powder.
In addition to the dry ingredients, we add melted butter to the cake.
The original recipe uses cold butter cut into pieces and placed on top of the dry ingredients. I believe that adding melted butter significantly simplifies the cake preparation – see for yourselves.
As you can see, this quick plum cake is indeed quick, even express.
I recommend waiting about 15 minutes after baking, and then serving it still slightly warm with ice cream – it will taste exquisite!
