Basil – recipes for everyone!
Basil is often used as a food ingredient, both for seasoning dishes and in the form of fresh leaves added to salads or sauces.
Basil leaves have an intense, sweet-spicy flavor, which, combined with their aroma, makes them highly valued in the kitchen.
Basil can be used in various dishes, including pasta, pizza, salads, meat and fish dishes, as well as for preparing sauces and soups.
Basil can be bought fresh or dried, although fresh basil has a more intense taste and aroma.
Fresh basil leaves can be stored in the refrigerator in a glass of water, where they will stay fresh and in good condition for several days. Dried basil leaves are more durable and can be stored in an airtight container for a long time.
Basil is considered a food ingredient rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, such as vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, and iron.
This herb tastes especially good to me in combination with Italian cuisine dishes :)
