Nuts – recipes for everyone!
Nuts are a popular food ingredient that can be eaten alone as a snack or used in various dishes.
Many types of nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, hazelnuts, peanuts, macadamia nuts, and Brazil nuts, are rich in protein, fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals.
Nuts can be added to various dishes, such as salads, pasta, curries, soups, and cakes, to add flavor and crunch.
They can also be ground and used as a topping ingredient or as a flour substitute in gluten-free recipes. Here you can use ground almonds, ground hazelnuts, or walnuts. However, you must remember that nuts are much more caloric than flour (almost twice as much).
Despite their beneficial nutritional properties, nuts are also very caloric, so they should be consumed in moderation, especially if we want to maintain a healthy body weight.
People allergic to nuts should avoid consuming them and look for alternative sources of nutrients.
