Powdered Milk – Recipes for Everyone!
Powdered milk is a dairy product created by evaporating water from milk and transforming the liquid into a dry, powdered form.
Powdered milk has a longer shelf life than regular milk and is easier to transport and store.
Powdered milk is often used as an ingredient in many recipes, such as desserts, cakes, bread, beverages, soups, sauces, and other dishes.
In Polish cuisine, powdered milk was often used for desserts in the past. It was used to make traditional chocolate fudge during the PRL era, when access to real chocolate was severely limited.
It has a universal taste and dissolves well, making it easy to use in the kitchen. And its delicious taste gives desserts and cakes a unique aroma.
Powdered milk is rich in nutrients such as protein, calcium, vitamins B2, B12, and D, but it also contains some fat and sugar. However, due to the production process, powdered milk often loses some nutrients, such as vitamin C.
Powdered milk can be a convenient alternative to traditional milk, especially in places where it is not easily accessible or milk storage is problematic. It can also be used as an addition to coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages.
Cakes made with powdered milk acquire a unique taste – you can, for example, prepare creamy powdered milk cakes, or bake a delicious cheesecake. My recommended powdered milk cake is the famous Iceberg Cake, but you’ll find many more delicious recipes on the blog. Try them all!
