Coleslaw recipe – simple salad with white cabbage
Coleslaw salad is a perfect fresh vegetable salad, great for any occasion! My version is homemade and very simple to make – I simply chop pieces of fresh white cabbage, add grated carrots and onion, and then mix with a yogurt and mayonnaise-based dressing, which is lighter than just mayonnaise. The result? A fresh and crunchy salad that pairs perfectly with meats, other salads, or as a standalone dish. Try it yourselves!

Coleslaw Salad – notes
It’s been a long time since there was a salad recipe on the blog. This was somewhat related to preparing my salad recipe book. Everything I made “went” into it. The book finally had its premiere, and I was left with an unused coleslaw salad.
It didn’t make it into the book, so now I’m coming to you with a coleslaw salad recipe. The salad itself is probably the most popular salad, known all over the world. I think the secret to its success lies in simple, basic ingredients and great taste.

How to make coleslaw – tips
You will need white cabbage, carrots, and onion for it. I added thick Greek yogurt to the mayonnaise dressing – this way, I lightened it up a bit. By the way, I’ll also share a cool trick for chopping cabbage. Cut it into quarters and slice it with a slotted knife. This way, you’ll get thinly shredded cabbage. And I’ll add that this method shreds cabbage very quickly. Coleslaw salad needs to be chilled in the refrigerator after preparation – so that the flavors meld together.
Serve it as a side dish for dinner or even as a salad for pita bread or tortillas.
