Cucumbers
Cucumbers – recipes for everyone!
Cucumbers are vegetables with a distinctive shape and green skin, which are a popular ingredient in cuisines around the world.
Cucumbers have a crunchy texture and refreshing taste, making them perfect for eating raw or as an ingredient in salads and other dishes.
The nutritional value of cucumbers depends on the type, but in general, cucumbers are low in calories and rich in water and fiber. 100 grams of cucumbers contain approximately 15 calories, 0.1 grams of fat, 3.6 grams of carbohydrates, 0.7 grams of protein, and 0.5 grams of fiber.
Cucumbers are also rich in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, and magnesium. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the body from harmful free radicals, while vitamin K is important for bone and blood health.
Cucumbers are a versatile ingredient that can be used in many ways in the kitchen.
They can be eaten raw as a snack, added to salads, sandwiches, sauces, or soups. Cucumbers can also be pickled, preserved, or cooked in various dishes to add flavor and crunch.
In Polish cuisine, fermented cucumbers and pickled cucumbers are particularly popular. Pickled cucumbers are often used in various salads, although I personally am not very fond of them ;)
