Nutmeg – recipes for everyone!
Nutmeg is a popular kitchen spice.
It is a spice with an intense aroma and a sweetish taste.
Nutmeg is commonly used to flavor meats, soups, sauces, and vegetable dishes.
In moderate amounts, nutmeg is safe to consume, however, in large quantities, it can be toxic and lead to undesirable health effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and convulsions. Therefore, it is important to use nutmeg in moderation and always according to recipe recommendations.
I most often use nutmeg to prepare béchamel sauce for my casseroles.
I also add it to spices for sweet baked goods – especially for pumpkin cakes.
