Upside-down nut cake – notes
Oh, I just love nuts!
And when they’re crunchy and caramel-coated like that, I’m completely smitten.
So don’t be surprised when I tell you that this upside-down nut cake is delicious.
Here we have a combination of delicate cake and crunchy nuts in caramel.
Simple, yet extraordinary.

How to make an upside-down nut cake – tips
Why upside-down? Because it’s baked “upside down” and then, after baking, it’s inverted so that the bottom of the cake is on top.
How to do it?
Pour caramel onto the bottom of the pan, arrange nuts on top, and then add the cake batter.
Baked this way, the cake rises nicely, and the nuts get coated in caramel and become wonderfully crunchy.
After baking, we flip the cake upside down so that the nuts from the bottom are on top :D
Cool? Cool!
You must try it :)
And if you like such upside-down cakes, also bake upside-down banana cake, coconut, or with pears :)

Recipe for upside-down nut cake
Upside-down cakes are becoming more and more popular, and that doesn't surprise me. Starting with the famous upside-down apple tarte tatin, more and more variations and ideas for such cakes are appearing. I myself have baked them in many different configurations. Here I can highly recommend the upside-down banana cake - a true delight for the palate. What once came about by accident proves every time what a perfect accident it was. A cake baked upside down does not absorb moisture from what is on top and can rise freely without losing its fluffiness. And the filling submerged in caramel caramelizes beautifully and acquires a wonderful consistency. Fruits baked this way become wonderfully soft and sweet, while nuts acquire ideal crispness. You absolutely must try the recipe for cake with caramelized nuts - it's a dream!
