Why bake cinnamon apple cake?
My cake today is a perfect idea for a sweet autumn dessert. Not only is the cake delicious, but it’s also very simple to prepare. Just a dozen minutes in the kitchen and you can bake it. What’s more, it’s an apple cake without a mixer; just a bowl and a spoon are enough to make it. Thanks to cinnamon, the cake has a wonderful taste and aroma – for me, it’s great comfort food for rainy and chilly days. So be sure to bake this cake, sit down with a cup of coffee or tea and a slice of still warm cake, and enjoy its taste.

Ingredients needed to prepare cinnamon apple cake
This cake requires only a few very basic ingredients that you probably already have at home, or can easily buy in any store. Below is a shortened list of the products I used and possible substitutes.
- apples – I used early Polish apples here, you can use any variety, but harder ones will be better
- oil – I used rapeseed oil, you can also use another oil with a mild flavor
- butter – you will need a small amount of butter for the crumble, I used extra 82% butter, you can also use a butter mix, or even vegetable butter
- yogurt – I added thick Greek yogurt, you can also use plain natural yogurt, optionally it can also be kefir or buttermilk – the cake will then be a little less dense

What to serve with cinnamon apple cake?
If you prefer sweeter cakes, you can additionally drizzle this homemade apple cake with a little simple homemade glaze after baking and cooling. Just mix about 50 g of powdered sugar (1/3 cup) with about 1 teaspoon of milk and stir thoroughly. Drizzle the top of the cake with the prepared glaze in decorative patterns.

You can serve still warm cinnamon apple cake with a scoop of your favorite ice cream – then you’ll get an even more delicious dessert :) Such homemade apple cake is the perfect cake for coffee and tea. It will surely appeal to both household members and guests.

How to store cinnamon apple cake?
If it’s not too hot at home, this easy apple cake can sit at room temperature on the kitchen counter for about 3 days. I recommend transferring the cake to an airtight container with a lid, or covering it with a cake dome, so that the cake retains its freshness and moisture for as long as possible. Thanks to covering, the cake will not dry out and will retain its softness longer.
If the cake is to sit longer, or won’t be eaten quickly, it’s worth putting the leftovers in the fridge so it doesn’t spoil from the apples added to the cake. You can also freeze apple and crumble cake for about 3 months.

I hope this simple apple cake recipe will come in handy many times and you’ll gladly return to it. Be sure to share your impressions in the comments below the recipe!
