Dates
Dates – Recipes for Everyone!
I really love dates! I eat them on their own, or chop them into smaller pieces and add them to my daily granola.
Dates are fruits whose nutritional properties are especially appreciated by athletes. Both dried and fresh dates are a treasure trove of simple sugars, providing energy during intense physical activity, and they also help replenish glycogen and potassium in the body. Additionally, dates can help prevent atherosclerosis, ease menopause symptoms, and relieve constipation (source: Poradnik Zdrowie).
For this reason, people who practice sports or do physical work should include dates in their diet.
Dates can be added to smoothies or oatmeal. Chopped dates can also be added to cookies and cakes.
Personally, I really love sticky toffee pudding, which I first tried on a trip to Scotland.
Soaked and blended dates added to your batter can reduce the amount of white sugar needed and also give your baked goods a beautiful caramel color.
