Oregano – recipes for everyone!

Oregano is a popular herb with an intense aroma and flavor, originating from the Mediterranean basin.

It is a plant from the mint family, often used in cooking as an addition to various dishes.

Oregano contains many nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like calcium, iron, and manganese. It also contains natural plant compounds such as rosmarinic acid and carnosol, which have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Oregano is widely used in cooking, both fresh and dried.

It is added to salads, sauces, pizza, meats, fish, as well as pasta dishes.

Oregano is often used in Mediterranean cuisine, especially in Italian and Greek kitchens.

I can’t imagine a good homemade pizza or spaghetti without a touch of oregano.

I add it to season ground meat and risotto. I also sprinkle fresh leaves on top of dishes and salads—so in spring, I like to plant it on my balcony to have easy access to fresh herbs :)
