Step 4 – Layering the Batter in the Pan

Ingredients for Cinnamon Bundt Cake
To bake this soft and fluffy cinnamon bundt cake at home, you only need a handful of simple ingredients. Below is a short list of what I used, along with possible substitutions.
- Butter – butter is the base of this creamed cake. Extra-quality butter works best, but you can also use a butter blend or plant-based butter if needed.
- Sugar – I used powdered sugar to cream the butter, but you can substitute it with regular sugar (fine sugar works best). Just mix a bit longer until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
- Milk – I used 1.5% UHT milk, but any milk will work, including plant-based alternatives. Make sure it’s at room temperature. You can gently warm it in the microwave or in a small saucepan if needed.
- All-purpose flour – standard all-purpose flour works perfectly here.
- Maple syrup – I added a teaspoon of maple syrup (1 tsp / 5 ml) to the glaze for extra flavor, but you can skip it and make a simple glaze with just powdered sugar and milk. For extra color and aroma, you can add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon instead.

Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Cinnamon Bundt Cake
For a perfectly fluffy and soft cake, it’s crucial to cream the butter and sugar thoroughly until the mixture is light and airy. I usually beat the butter with powdered sugar for at least 3 minutes on high speed.
Once the butter is properly creamed, mix in the remaining ingredients briefly and on low speed. Be careful not to overmix the batter after adding the flour – overmixing can cause the cake to lose its fluffy texture.
Ingredient temperature also matters. All ingredients should be at room temperature, especially butter, eggs, and milk. Ideally, take them out of the fridge at least 2 hours before baking. If you forget, gently soften the butter and milk in the microwave. Eggs can be placed in a bowl of hot water for about 10 minutes to warm them up quickly.

What to Serve with Buttery Cinnamon Bundt Cake
This aromatic homemade cinnamon bundt cake tastes wonderful with a cup of hot tea – a spiced or winter-style tea pairs especially well. It’s also delicious with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, while kids will happily enjoy it with a mug of hot chocolate.

How to Store Buttery Cinnamon Bundt Cake
This cinnamon bundt cake can be stored at room temperature. To keep it fresh and fluffy for longer, cover it with a cake dome or store it in an airtight container. If you choose to refrigerate it, let it come back to room temperature before serving. Since the cake contains a generous amount of butter, it may firm up slightly in the fridge.

This fluffy, buttery cinnamon bundt cake is a true classic among homemade bakes. Soft, aromatic, and irresistibly delicious – it’s sure to win over everyone who tries it. Give the recipe a go, watch the video, and let me know in the comments how it turned out.
