In the past, a two-course meal was the norm – first soup, then the main course.

In schools or kindergartens, it’s still like that.

At home, it’s a bit different ;)

I admit that having both soup and a main course usually happens only on weekends, because during the week I don’t have the time.

Moreover, we tend to eat smaller portions nowadays.

Often, soup is the entire meal, especially when I make żurek with sausage, bacon, egg, and potatoes. After a serving of such soup, I couldn’t manage a main course.

In summer, we also prefer lighter meals, and a bowl of soup is more than enough.
