Pistachio liqueur – notes
My ‘phase’ for pistachios, pistachio bakes and other sweets is in full swing. Recently, from our ski trip to Italy, we brought back pistachio liqueur. Delicious and creamy. I realized, by the way, that I hadn’t seen such a liqueur anywhere in Poland until now. So, without much thought, I decided to prepare homemade pistachio liqueur, and as I look at the ingredients of both liqueurs, I must admit that mine is better! So, prepare these three basic ingredients and make yourself an Italian pistachio liqueur in your own kitchen :)

What ingredients are essential for preparing pistachio liqueur?
You only need three ingredients here:
- heavy cream – for me, it’s liquid cream in a carton with 30% fat content
- pistachio cream – use sweetened cream here, not pistachio paste made only from pistachios. I used pistachio cream from Lidl – their package has 190 g – you can use just that much, or add another teaspoon from a second package – I had two, so I added more. Pistachio cream from Biedronka has 200 g and will also be good
- vodka – any (well, maybe not Żubrówka ;) – it doesn’t have to be particularly expensive and, of course, plain, not flavored!

What is the alcohol content of pistachio liqueur?
With the products I used, my liqueur has about 17%. So, it’s standard for a cream liqueur.
How to store pistachio cream liqueur?
If it’s not too hot at home, the liqueur can stand at room temperature for about 2 weeks. If it’s hotter, or the liqueur stands longer, it’s worth putting it in the fridge – besides, such chilled liqueur tastes even better!

How long to store pistachio liqueur?
Liqueur with added heavy cream can be stored for about 3 months, but if it’s in the fridge, it will safely be good for consumption even after that date :)
I hope you’ll be eager to try this recipe and prepare such a creamy liqueur for yourself. If so, I’d be extremely happy if you later share your impressions in a comment.
