Mango panna cotta – notes
With the arrival of spring and sunnier, warmer days, I have a greater craving for light and refreshing fruit desserts. And that’s exactly what my mango panna cotta is today. You can even prepare such a dessert, served in individual glasses, for holidays. It will look beautiful on the festive table and will surely delight everyone with its light, fruity taste :)

Where did panna cotta come from?
Panna cotta is a delicious and simple Italian dessert, which literally translates to “cooked cream”. Here you will need sweet heavy cream, which should be heated strongly and then mixed with the remaining ingredients. A typical Italian panna cotta is vanilla-flavored, served plain or with a fruit sauce. My panna cotta already has the fruit part added to the cream, giving it a different – fruity and fresh taste.

What ingredients are needed to make panna cotta?
To prepare this mango-flavored dessert, you will only need a few basic ingredients:
- mango – for the panna cotta itself, I used ready-made canned mango pulp – thanks to this, I didn’t have to blend mango into a puree. I diced the fruit itself and arranged it on top of the set dessert. If you don’t have mango pulp, you can, of course, use fresh fruit – it’s best to choose a more ripe one – its taste will be more intense
- cream – 30% heavy cream will be best, but you can also use 36% cream – in that case, the calorie content of the dessert will slightly change
- milk – I used 1.5% milk – you can also use milk with a different fat content
- sugar – my pulp was slightly sweetened, so I added only 50 g of sugar to the dessert – the dessert itself turned out delicately sweet. If you prefer sweeter desserts, check the taste of the panna cotta before pouring the mixture into glasses. If it’s not sweet enough, or slightly bland (less ripe mango can sometimes be slightly bland in taste), add a little powdered sugar (it will dissolve easier and faster)
- lemon juice – if, despite the sugar, the mixture is bland in taste, I recommend adding a little lemon juice – it will nicely balance the flavor and slightly enhance it

How to store mango panna cotta?
After preparation, immediately place the panna cotta in the refrigerator so that it sets nicely. This should take about 3-4 hours. Once the dessert has set, you can decorate and serve it. Of course, the dessert can stay in the refrigerator longer – even several days. Due to dairy products, fruit, and gelatin, store the dessert in the refrigerator until consumption.
