Cinnamon liqueur – notes
I like making homemade liqueurs because I love adding them to my coffee with milk :) Such homemade liqueurs taste much better to me than store-bought ones, because those often have a strange aftertaste. Most often I prepare express salted caramel liqueur or homemade Baileys liqueur. Now it’s time for cinnamon liqueur, which I spotted on Instagram at @kulinarnej_maniusi. I modified my liqueur a bit and prepared it completely differently than she did – I blended mine with a blender, and didn’t cook the whole thing. You can choose how you want to prepare the liqueur here :)

Ingredients necessary for preparing cinnamon liqueur
To make the liqueur, you only need a few ingredients. Below I provide my notes on them and possible substitutes.
- kajmak (dulce de leche) – I used Gostyń dulce de leche (with a traditional fudge flavor); such a can has 510 g. You can also use other dulce de leche, but look for a can that has 500 g.
- heavy cream – I used liquid heavy cream from a carton with 30% fat content; I used Łaciata brand, but you can use any heavy cream.
- vodka – any will be fine, well, maybe except for flavored ones ;)
- cocoa – the author added an additional 1 tablespoon of bitter cocoa in the recipe; I didn’t add it (because, to be honest, I forgot about it ;)) the liqueur tastes great to me in this form and I don’t feel its absence, but if you want, you can add more cocoa.

What is the alcohol content of cinnamon liqueur?
I calculated that with the products and quantities I used, my cinnamon liqueur had about 16% alcohol. It is therefore a very light liqueur, I would say a ‘ladies’ liqueur. That’s why it’s great not only for drinking on its own but also as an addition to desserts, ice cream, or coffee.

How to store homemade cinnamon liqueur?
After preparation, the liqueur should be poured into a bottle with a tight cork or screw cap. Immediately after preparation, store it in the refrigerator for 24 hours for the flavors to meld – initially, the vodka taste is more dominant. This is a cream liqueur, so it’s best to keep it in the refrigerator. Such homemade liqueur is best consumed within about 2 months. After removing it from the refrigerator, it’s worth shaking the bottle with the liqueur to mix it well.
