Amaretto is an alcoholic liqueur originating from Italy.

It has a sweet taste with a slightly bitter almond flavor.

Amaretto is a key ingredient in many cocktails. It is also often used as an addition to coffee, chocolate, desserts, and cakes, frequently paired with almonds.

I can’t imagine tiramisu without amaretto. I prepare lightly sweetened coffee, and once it cools, I add the liqueur. In this coffee, I dip the ladyfinger biscuits, which form the base of tiramisu.
